RUSS WHITTEN

Russ Whitten began his musical journey at age 15 when he started learning guitar from some of the amazing musicians in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He played in a high school rock band in Muscle Shoals, then in a college rock band at Auburn University. He has been playing guitar at Old Florida Fish House for the past three years. He will be releasing his first album in May!

Russ is also a Christian author and, in 2006, published his first book entitled Have You Ever Wondered? (available on Amazon.com). 

Russ graduated from Auburn University, earned a Masters at Lipscomb University, and later studied apologetics at Oxford University. He has been involved in mission work in India, Ghana, Ukraine, and England. Russ and his wife, Charlene, served in campus ministry for 16 years at Colorado State University and the University of Florida. 

His favorite quote about music comes from Johann Sebastian Bach: “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.”
